Procession of Paz y Caridad

Religious brotherhood in charge: Archicofradía Sacramental de Paz y Caridad de la Pura y Limpia Concepción de María y Real Hermandad de Nazarenos del Santísimo Cristo Amarrado a la Columna y María Santísima de la Esperanza Coronada.

The sculpture of María Santísima de la Esperanza (Our Lady of Hope) from this religious brotherhood was crowned on the 7th of September 2002 by the Cardinal Archbishop of Seville, Carlos Amigo Vallejo. The sculpture of El Santísimo Cristo Amarrado a la Columna (Christ tied to a column) was carved at the end of the 17th century by Andrés de Carvajal y Campos, a sculptor from the renowned school of sculpture in Antequera, a town nearby. The sculpture of María Santísima de la Esperanza Coronada (Our Crowned Lady of Hope) was carved by the Catalan sculptor Jacinto Garcina in 1896.
